Overview: This guitar was specc'd for a very organic aesthetic with a lush green quilt and beautifully matching Black Limba Body and Macassar Ebony fretboard. The attention to detail is incredibly, neck profile is perfect and she plays like butter!
|
The neck is Wenge with Flamed Maple fillets, and Macassar Ebony fretboard, with hard crowned and polished Stainless steel frets, Luminlays side dotsThis new neck carve is super flat and feels sublime. BlacKat spend hours and use several different processes to end up with frets as smooth and polished as these. Strings bend effortlessly across them and being stainless steel they should last a life time.
Hipshot hardware, graphite nut, Dunlop straploks
The low profile Hipshot hardtail bridge is strung through the body and is smooth and comfortable for palm muting. Hipshot are also employed for the excellent O-Ring control knobs and Griplock tuners. These locking tuners are a joy to use. They lock the string in place making changes a breeze and tuning stability rock solid. The BlacKat DC7 also comes fitted with a pair of Dunlop straploks to make sure it stays in place when using a guitar strap.
Whether you are a fan of the name or not the 'Warpig' is a formidable pickup. Brutality with Clarity and a round full tone are the desired results of this hi-gain monster. The ceramic magnets in this set delivers faster bass attack, smoother mids and a sharper roll off in the hi-range to zone in on the beast all round tonal response for a wide spectrum and well rounded beast of a pickup. |
The Warpig humbucker was originally conceived as an all-out extreme metal humbucker capable of seriously dark and saturated tones. However it soon found uses as diverse as jazz and fusion establishing itself as a major player in the Bare Knuckle range.
